eat on the floor with us
As we approach the final week of classes at our St Marys studio, we’re inviting our community to gather for a warm and simple farewell. On Sunday 21st December, after the last classes, we’ll come together for a free Community Potluck Dinner—a chance to connect, share food, and honour the space that has held so many memories.
being seen is hard
Creating the design for our summer merch was pure joy — until it came time for people to actually see it. Suddenly, I felt exposed and uncomfortable. That feeling became a reminder of a core yoga teaching: the practice of sitting with discomfort. Yoga isn’t just what happens on the mat, but how we meet ourselves off it, too.
our home base for 2026
With our St Mary’s studio closing on 21 December, we’re bringing our whole community together under one beautiful roof at our South Penrith location. Thank you for all the love and support over the past week — life can throw curveballs, but we’re moving forward together. Our new timetable begins 2 January, with a full range of yoga, reformer, mat Pilates and even hoop dance, available in-studio and via Zoom. We can’t wait to welcome you into our Penrith home in the new year.
an update for our St Marys studio
After eight years of growing our Nin Yoga community, I’ve made one of the hardest decisions since opening our first studio in St Marys — we’ll be consolidating everything into Penrith at the end of this month. This isn’t goodbye, it’s a regrouping. A way to protect jobs, strengthen our teachers, stabilise financially, and move forward from a place of clarity, strength, and community.
my new boots
Yoga is often seen through a filter of perfect poses and ultra-flexible bodies, but real yoga looks different for everyone. In a recent Beginner’s class, I was reminded just how accessible this practice truly is—whether you’re sitting in a chair, working around an injury, or simply learning to breathe with intention. Yoga isn’t about forcing your body into shapes. It’s about honouring where you are, moving with awareness, and remembering that if you can breathe, you can do yoga.
need something to look forward to?
A few weeks ago, we had an idea… to host a retreat. So we followed the pull — found the space, booked it, gathered the facilitators, and created the experience within days. No overthinking, just a deep knowing that this was something we needed to do. And now, it’s officially happening: the Nin Yoga Winter Retreat, July 2026 at Yanada Retreat on Darkinjung Country. Hosted by Jennifer Lorena, Annika Saigi, Karen Gruber, and beloved elders Uncle Colin and Aunty Lully, this retreat is designed to help you slow down, reconnect, and remember who you are beneath the noise. With yoga, nourishing meals, fire circles, art, rest, and community, it’s a soul-filling weekend away!
my brain is overstimulated
I’m tired, overstimulated, and craving a moment to myself. So I sink into the couch, scroll for “just a minute,” and suddenly an hour is gone—along with the nourishing plans I had for the evening. We’ve all been there.
A phrase from my teacher, Kaya Mindlin, has been echoing in my mind: “What you repeat, you become established in.”
Lately, I’ve been reflecting on the habits I repeat every day—some that support me, others that quietly drain me. Some seem tiny, yet over time they shape who I am and who I’m becoming.
five things
I wanted to write about anxiety… but I felt too anxious to start. My mind chatter spiralled with doubts about whether I was “qualified” to talk about it. With space and perspective, I remembered that experiencing anxiety is exactly why I can speak on it — honestly, and from the heart. Here are two simple practices that have been helping me soften the noise and come back to myself.
later never comes
We’ve just graduated over 100 new yoga teachers — all with completely different life stories. Some work full-time, some are parents, some live interstate or travel constantly, and one of our youngest graduates is just 15. Another is 72.
Every one of them could’ve said, “I’ll do it later.” But they didn’t. Because later never comes.
Our teacher training programs are built for real life — flexible schedules, hybrid online/in-studio learning, and payment plans that make it possible now.
If you’ve been waiting for the “perfect time,” this is your sign: it doesn’t exist.
Reformer Pilates Teacher Training begins 25 Oct.
Yoga Teacher Training begins 4 Nov.
Start now. You’ll thank yourself later — or better yet, you won’t have to.
the only constant
After five years in a casual job I didn’t truly need, I finally let it go — and realised I’d been holding onto a safety blanket long after I’d outgrown it. Looking back through my calendar showed me how far I’ve come, and how clinging to the past can keep us from stepping fully into the life we’ve already built. Letting go created space, clarity, and a reminder that the only constant in life is change.
mounty food court
Growing up in Western Sydney shaped so much of who I am, which is why I love celebrating the stories and communities that make this place home. Our book club is currently reading “Dirt Poor Islanders” by local author Winnie Dunn — a powerful novel set in Mt Druitt that explores culture, identity, and connection. Join us this Sunday at St Marys for book club (even if you haven’t read the book!) and spend time with the Nin Yoga community.

just for now
You know, that moment at the end of your yoga class when your body finally sinks into the mat. You've moved and breathed, stretched and twisted, and your teacher finalllllly tells you to prepare for savasana.
