Our Story
Nin Yoga began in September 2017, when I decided it was time to stop hiring the local neighbourhood centre and take a bold leap — signing my very first lease on Queen Street, St Marys.
Honestly, I never imagined outgrowing the Colyton Neighbourhood Centre. But our classes were full, the energy was growing, and deep down I knew the next step was coming… even if it terrified me. Who was I to open a “real” studio? I just loved teaching yoga and bringing people together.
Then, as it tends to do, the universe opened a door — an affordable little brick shopfront became available on Queen Street. I jumped. Signed the lease. Painted the walls. Rolled out a schedule.
All I needed was a name.
I thought it had to be something deep, meaningful, and spiritual. But time was short — and my high school nickname “Nin” was quick to write on the window. I figured I’d change it later. (Spoiler: I never did. I was too busy laying floors and building community.)
And that’s how Nin Yoga was born.
What started as a small yoga space has grown into a thriving community — a place where people from all walks of life come exactly as they are. A place for movement, for breath, for laughter, for connection.
Today, Nin Yoga is home to yoga, aerial yoga, lyra, reformer and mat pilates, workshops, teacher trainings, and a whole lot of heart.
We’re so grateful you’re here — thank you for letting us do what we love, in a community that means everything to us.

Our Studio Values
At Nin Yoga, we offer plenty of ways to move and groove — but underneath it all, our values always come back to the Yamas and Niyamas, the foundations of yoga philosophy.
If you’ve never heard of them, think of them as yoga’s moral compass. Yamas guide how we treat others. Niyamas guide how we show up for ourselves.
Here’s what that looks like in our community:
Ahimsa – Compassion & Empathy
We lead with kindness. Every person who walks through our doors is met with respect, understanding, and care. We know life can get messy — that’s why we create a space where you can land softly, just as you are.
Svadhyaya – Lifelong Learning
We’re big on growth — for our teachers, our students, and ourselves. Curiosity drives us to keep learning, questioning, and expanding. The more we grow, the better we can serve our community.
Tapas – Commitment & Consistency
We show up — even on the hard days. Commitment to practice and community builds trust and transformation. Tapas is that quiet fire that keeps us moving forward, one class at a time.
Satya – Authenticity
We say it how it is. No fluff, no front — just genuine, down-to-earth people doing what they love. We’re proud of our roots and believe in showing up honestly. You do you, boo.
Santosha – Gratitude & Humility
We choose gratitude — for the big things and the small ones. Our team stays grounded, humble, and thankful to learn from every person who walks into the studio. Because as we say, “When one teaches, two learn.”
