Breathwork Circle 17th November 2018 5:30pm - 7:30pm Breathwork gives each individual the opportunity to process fears, trauma and negative emotions that are stored in the cells of the body. When we experience trauma, deep sadness or loss we naturally move into the flight or fight process. We do this so we can move on with our daily life such as earning a living, feeding our children and life in general. In ancient cultures like the Middle East and Africa grieving is seen as a natural process that has significant purpose or is seen as a “rite of passage”. Time and space is allocated in honour of this process. You can see men and women wailing for days, wearing certain dress in song, dance and ceremony or going to sacred places to allow the sadness to be present. This could be done alone, within a tribe or with the entire community support. Western culture however is busy and forces us to move on storing these emotions inside our bodies and minds. Breathwork gives us the opportunity to journey safely inward and release the emotions that have been stored inside of us. We can carry these emotions from as early as our birth and if they are not released they can have long lasting subconscious effect that keep us from reaching our full potential. Breathwork also gives us the opportunity to access our natural state of bliss. This can occur after a emotional release and can also give us space to access insight and clarity to make positive changes in our lives. Investment: $75 To book your place or find out more send a personal message via Facebook or email ginnyshearer@hotmail.com or phone Ginny on 0420984481

Dan will present a workshop detailing the first chapter of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras – Samadhi. The chapter begins with the ominous “now, yoga instruction” and guides us through what we can expect to encounter on our way to samadhi (the settlement of the mind).  51 sutras explained in a way that is practical, useful and able to be actioned, or at the very least understood. There will be time for brief discussion, comments and questions during the presentation.   If you’ve ever wondered ‘what is yoga?’, ‘what is the real purpose of it?’, ‘am I doing it correctly’ or ‘how do I practice yoga?’ this presentation will enlighten you.   Dan Alder has been a full-time yoga teacher for the last 8 years, five of which have included teaching Teacher Training Courses as well as retreats and daily classes. Dan owned and operated one of inner Brisbane’s longest running and most popular studio’s, The Yoga Den – West End Yoga Studio. Since August of 2017 Dan has been living in the Queensland country, near Stanthorpe, and continued his teaching in the way of ‘personalised retreats’ for individuals and small groups. Dan also travels for workshops, retreats and locum teaching.   Living in the country presents the time and space to undertake projects that otherwise might not even be considered. In 2018 Dan began a project that was really only for self-interest but due to the deep learning and enjoyment found decided to make the project a bigger project. A book. A resource.  Dan has completed a task of approximately 1000 hours work. The book is not complete, but the structure is set.   Dan shares his translation of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. These sutras tell of a systematic way to liberate ourselves from suffering and ignorance. The teachings are a minimum of 2500 years old, but most likely many thousands of years older than this. The sutras are instructions about, how to, results of, and liberation of yoga. The teachings are profound yet self-evident, though most of us are completely blind to them. The sutras shine a light on what we are, the journey we travel, and how to move towards the most important things to us.    This 2.5 hour workshop is free for Nin Yoga members, and $15 for non-members, with all profits going towards    Rishikesh Animal Care . To book, just head to our website or find us on the Mindbody App . *members, to take advantage of the workshop at no-cost, please email annika@ninyoga.com.au or text Annika on 0405 223 212 and she will save you your spot*
