Lets Do ThisAre you spending your Tuesday & Thursday nights scrolling on your phone or binging Netflix?
What if you were to dedicates Tuesday and Thursday evenings for 5 months to a transformation that will change your life forever?
Our teacher training program is fun, it’s affordable, it’s accessible, it’s deeply intentional and it is thorough.
Its also simple. It’s not overly complicated for no reason.
It touches on the foundations you’ll need to then go on to be an awesome yogi and wonderful yoga teacher.
The Nin Yoga studio community is like one big extended family. The ones you look forward to spending time with. We love a good laugh and know not to take ourselves too seriously (where is the fun in that?)
We would LOVE to invite you to join us for our next training together.
I'm in!
Hi, I’m Annika, and I am the founder of Nin Yoga and the director of this Yoga Teacher Training.
I know what it feels like to have a lot of balls in the air, I have a young family and hold space for a big yoga ‘family’ too. There is a lot on my plate, and I know it’s the same for you too.
When I was putting together this teacher training I had that in mind. I wanted it to work for you regardless of your other commitments, such as a family or a job.
I also wanted it to be affordable to everyone, when I did yoga teacher training myself I benefited enormously from a generous extended payment plan. I now want to pay that forward.
When I think about this community that I have built, I often pinch myself. I’m just an ordinary person but what that shows is that if I can do it, anyone can. Great yoga teachers come from all walks of life and all backgrounds.
My heart feels so full when I think about the teacher training we have put together.
This community that we have built feels so much bigger than me and for good reason! All of teachers who have qualified through this teacher training are incredible and they will go on to pass this knowledge and wisdom for generations to come.
This training will be a legacy.
The biggest joy for me right now in my life is how I’ve been able to apply the teachings of yoga to my personal relationships, to my family, and to the way I run my business.
I’m a better mum and a better partner and I’m kinder to myself because of yoga. My 4-year-old daughter even teaches her classmates yoga at day-care. Pretty cool right?!
I wouldn’t be where I am without it and I want to bring you on the journey too … so I’ve created a teacher training that will facilitate that with ease and flow.
It’s my heartfelt wish that you’ll join us for the ride.
What makes our Yoga Teacher Training different from others you ask?
As a teacher for since 2015, and studio owner since 2017, there are a few key points to mention about this particular training that make it different from ALLLLL of the rest out there at the moment.
Part-time weekday evening classes. We have noticed that most of our community works in full-time roles, and the weekend is full of family commitments. Teacher training during the weekday or weekend is usually not accessible (anyone else got little kiddies?!). So, for this round, we have made the classes on Tuesday and Thursday evening instead, Tuesday in person and Thursday from the comfort of your home via Zoom.
Extended payment plans. As someone who does not own a money tree out the back, often the only way ongoing learning has been accessible for me is with payment plans. We wanted to stretch these out and give a generous 37 weeks at $80 a week. We know this offering will help with cash flow, so the investment for this teacher training is much easier to manage.
Exceptional Faculty. All of the teachers in this teacher training are absolute experts in their field and are respected by our industry and beyond. It has always been such an honor to bring these teachers out to Western Sydney, and we look forward to hosting them!
Combination of In-person AND online. This makes our Teacher Training much more accessible for those with commitments at home or who live further away. It also still keeps the community aspect of the training that allows for direct interaction and the opportunity to create priceless relationships with your peers and mentors. Life-long friends are often the result of this training, and we look forward to continuing to facilitate these relationships.
We’re DIVERSE. When people think about yoga teacher training, often the first thing that pops into their head is a skinny, rich, white lady of leisure who is on their next spiritual kick. Our community is not based on that stereotype. We are a bunch of real people, in all shapes, forms, ages, and colors, who just LOVE yoga and want to share it with ALL those it resonates with (that being said, however, if you are skinny, rich, and white, we would of course still love to have you join the community!). English, your second language? Retired? Just finished High School? Can’t touch your toes? Hand on heart, neither could I when I first started teacher training! Just in the last class I taught, I had a 19-year-old AND a 60-year-old. We are a total mixed bag and really proud of it.
We at Nin Yoga are based in Western Sydney, where we are surrounded by people of diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.
All are welcome.

Modules Explored
History of Yoga
Did you know that Yoga is over 5000 years old? We will explore what there is to know about this ancient practice we still love to do today.
Yoga Philosophy
The essential principles of Yoga as a practice, and as a way of life can be found in 3 main ancient texts: the Bhagavad Gita, Hatha Yoga Pradipika & Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. We will explore, discuss and reflect on each of these.
Alignment & Assists
Exactly that, alignment of the physical body and how to assist the students in the yoga poses by using either our voice, or by physically adjusting them.
Anatomy & Physiology
This is the 101 of the bones and muscles of the human body, as well as how the human body functions.
Subtle Anatomy
This is the study of the body as energy, rather than just those bones and muscles, for example, the Chakras and the Koshas.
Meditation & Holding Space
Yoga was created with the intention of settling the “fluctuations of the mind”. This is done through meditation. As human beings, we have busy minds. We will explore how we can help ourselves, and possibly others, find more clarity and calm.
Pranayama
Pranayama is a Sanskrit word for breathing exercises. We will learn different ways to manipulate the breath for ourselves and others, to then achieve lots of different health benefits.
Vinyasa Krama
Vinyasa Krama is the step-by-step progression into a certain “goal”. In other words, it is all about the sequencing of your yoga postures in the class plan to then keep your students safe, engaged, and on the path of progression after each class with you.
Class Planning
Putting your class together is a craft in itself. How do we find out what language of class plan writing works best for us? Where and when do we include the theme of your class, the meditation, breath awareness, and then the yoga poses themselves? How do we write class plans sustainably and effectively so we can continue to become better yoga teachers? These questions plus more will be answered and put into practical action here.
Ayurveda
Ayurveda is the 'sister science' to yoga and India's traditional natural wellness system. It is actually one of the oldest holistic “whole-body” healing systems in the world. We will touch on how we can incorporate it into our daily life.
Indigenous Culture & Spirituality
Even though we are studying an ancient Indian modality, we will also touch on our own roots here in Australia. Our ancestors have had the tools for their own ways of embodying mindfulness and spirituality for thousands of years.
Introduction to Teaching Beginners
You would think that teaching beginners would be the easiest group of students to teach, but often it is actually one of the hardest! We will break this down so that we have the foundations to share this practice with anyone, including your brother who has never touched his toes, your Uncle with a super tight back from working as a tradie for most of his life, and your beautiful Mumma, who is just excited to support you and your new journey, but could honestly use the yoga more than anyone.
Introduction to Pre-Natal Yoga
Pregnant women are often referred to start yoga by their doctors, but how do we keep them safe in an open-level class? An exceptionally important subject, and one with optional further learning if you wish to explore more.
Introduction to Yin Yoga
A new and now very popular style of yoga based on traditional Chinese medicine. In Yin Yoga, we hold poses for 3 - 8 minutes at a time, often using props. We will scratch the surface of this practice, which options for further learning if we wish.
The Business of Yoga
How do we even survive out in the wilderness that is being our own boss and becoming a contractor for multiple gyms/schools/studios? How do we travel from place to place and keep it sustainable? How do we write class plans sustainably? How do we put together an invoice and pay tax? What the heck is an ABN? What is even our average pay per hour? Do we have the right to superannuation?
All this, plus more, will be covered.

Kind words from graduates
Yoga has changed my life. Learning yoga and sharing yoga is so much more about the physical aspect of yoga. It is really a journey within itself. Its a really transformational journey that you embark on.
Its a journey where you find out who you are a what lies underneath the surface.
It has been the greatest and most rewarding thing that I have ever done so far. I would highly encourage you to embark on this extraordinary journey, even if the end goal is not to become a teacher.
- Mihaela
No time is the right time but any time is the perfect time! Being ‘ready’ isn’t a state it’s a choice! 🧘♀️
Deciding to be ready doesn’t mean all your worries go away, doesn’t mean your stress, anxieties and doubts go away. It means that you are strong enough to take a step into this new direction. Even if it is only a small step. 👣
Part of that process is finding your voice as a teacher, as a yogi, and as a human being.
Grateful to have shared this space @nin.yoga with other wonderful souls.
And the journey begins…
- Katrina

We believe in the value of a comprehensive and immersive training experience to truly cultivate skilled and authentic yoga teachers. If you're looking for a quick certification without the commitment to in-depth learning and self-reflection, our program may not be the best fit.

I'm in!
Learn more about your lead teacher.
Hi again, I'm Annika Saigi, I've been teaching yoga for 8+ years and a studio owner for 6.
My journey started in India, the birthplace of yoga, where I completed my first 500 hours of teacher training. When I returned I was full of fire and inspiration to share yoga with my Western Sydney community.
I grew up here in the west (Colyton High School & St Marys Senior 👋 anyone?), where we didn't have any studios, so I thought 'why not open local studios that I want to practice in?!' (I was pretty sick of traveling far and wide for a yoga class by then!).
Nin Yoga was born!
Nin Yoga started at the local Neighbourhood Centre, which we outgrew in just 3 months! It was time to invest in the bricks and mortar studio, known today as Nin Yoga St Marys.
Some years later, I'm proud to say we are still there, and have continued to grow with the addition of Nin Yoga Penrith, located across the Netball courts in Jamisontown. This is where our teacher training will be hosted Tuesday evenings.
Teaching yoga is my passion and I've taught more than 3000 hours in Yoga and Meditation classes over the years. I've also taught in several other teacher trainings which was so rewarding. I am also passionate about building this community, supporting local artists, and spending time with the fam bam, 4-year-old Maya, and Nara, who just arrived earth side late 2022.
My classes are insightful, engaging, and sometimes challenging (but in a fun way!).
I look forward to holding this container with some of my own teachers, right here, close to home, in a way that’s accessible, affordable, and achievable.
Directing our own teacher training feels good in our bellies and our hearts, and we know it will feel good in yours too.
What are the Dates?
Love to plan in advance? We love that too! (and future yoga teacher you will thank you for that also).
As mentioned, our course is every Tuesday & Thursday.
We expect you to make every single in person session, as well as be present on the online sessions with your camera on ready to learn.
If for whatever reason you can not make a session, we will have catch up work waiting for you (this will be extra homework!).
We get it, life happens. If you give us notice in advance of what classes you can not make, that will help us to coordinate it also.
Our intention is to meet you wherever you are. You got this!
Actual dates for the course can also be found in our Frequently Asked Questions.
What people are saying
Its been an amazing experience, I really love the people that I met during the course and I love the people I meet when I teach classes. Its just an amazing way to connect with people. Its one of the most rewarding things I have ever done.
I really recommended it to anyone.
- Katie
This year has been transformational and brutal, but with that comes immense beauty and light. I've learnt above all to find grace in starting again, and again and again if I need to. To find curiosity with that. Why? Because I have the breath, the building block of everything. Yoga is so much more than the physical Asana. It's a philosophy of unity with the mind, body and soul.
I am so grateful to have shared this experience with these wonderful humans, I am beyond honoured and grateful.
- Daniella
