One of my cringiest memories from primary school happened the year that I first discovered Harry Potter.️

I was in Year 4. Every afternoon, we had 20 minutes of independent reading time (an introvert's dream) before the teacher would gather us for the next activity.

But on this one day, I was so, completely immersed in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone—immersed in that entire world, with its wonder and enchantment and magic and adventure—that I just kept reading.

And reading.

And reading.

I didn't hear the teacher. I didn't hear the 20 other kids, throwing books in trays and chatting as they made their way to the floor.

I didn't hear as the entire class, teacher included, sat there, whispering and giggling and watching the clock as I continued to read.

It wasn't until I finished another chapter that I glanced up and saw the whole class laughing at me.

Totally. Mortified.

Until recently, this memory still made me blush (usually when it popped into my mind at 2am as I was trying to sleep).

But now, I feel so much love for that little girl who was so genuinely lost in a book that she travelled to Hogwarts while her class sat on watching.

And I realised that the only thing better than getting lost in a book is having a group of people to share that with.

Which is why the Nin Yoga Book Club fills my heart with soooo much love Annika.

For our next meet up, we're diving into Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert.  It's a book about creativity and inspiration, fear and courage, productivity and procrastination.

It explores how you can discover and nurture the creativity that lives within you. The unique ways that you see the world. The things that make your eyes shine and your heart sing. The sparks of light and joy and MAGIC within, just waiting to be released into the world.

It’s about living your life as creatively and bravely and authentically you as possible.

Join us at Nin Yoga St Marys on Sunday 15 June from 4–5.30pm.

It’s totally free for everyone to join, so invite your friends and let’s grow our little community of book loving yogis.

With love,

Samantha

P.S We have another beginner yoga course starting up soon. It will run from June 14th from 11 am to 12:15 pm, every Saturday for four consecutive weeks at Penrith. You can learn more about all of our courses by clicking here.
