sh*tty battles
Some of you will know Jacki already.
Jacki has been part of the Nin Yoga world since the very beginning. She’s the one behind pretty much of the design work you see around the studio. The quiet creative force who helps bring ideas to life. The person who says yes to all the crazy ideas and does it with double the speed and enthusiasm.
Right now, she’s saying yes to something a little bigger, and we are soooo proud of her!
Jacki is participating in Stars of Penrith, raising money for the Cancer Council, with a goal of $5,000.

This cause feels particularly close to home for me.
Last week marked one year since my dad passed away from sarcoma cancer. It was a 5-year, kind of very unfun adventure, that I still think about often.
One of my dearest friends — the kind of person who is normally completely unshakeable, the “I’ll do whatever the hell I want” type of strong-as-power woman whom I love dearly and rocks everything she sets her heart and mind to — is currently in her own exceptional shitty battle.
And honestly, I hear stories about cancer almost every day now. From students. From teacher trainees. From members of our team. From people whose loved ones are navigating it.
Cancer is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo so shit. For EVERYONE involved.
And sometimes it really does feel like it just picks people at random.
Maybe we’ll one day find a cure. Maybe we already know more than we tend to realise. Maybe there’s still so much we don’t understand.
But one thing I do know is this:
Support it really important.
I am incredibly thankful to live in a country where a lot of our medical care is supported and accessible.
That alone is something many people around the world simply don’t have.
And beyond the medical side, there’s also the human side. People showing up, caring, donating, and helping in figuring out a way to move forward.
That’s exactly what our dearest Jacki is doing too!
A little about Jacki
Jacqueline Felangue
Representing: Henry Lawson Theatre
Jacqueline has always valued being part of the community, and since joining the committee at the Henry Lawson Theatre, she has seen firsthand how powerful it is to be in the community, for the community. Supporting one another is at the heart of everything they do, and she feels privileged to contribute to such an important cause as cancer research.
Earlier this year, the theatre proudly took part in Relay for Life Penrith, where they exceeded their fundraising goal — a moment that reminded Jacqueline how much can be achieved when people come together.
She is now representing the theatre at the Stars of Penrith dance showcase, helping raise funds and awareness for the Cancer Council.
A lifelong performer, classically trained in dance from childhood and now active in community theatre, Jacqueline is thrilled to bring her passion for the arts to this event.
Above all, she is grateful for the opportunity to help raise funds and awareness for a cause that touches so many lives.
If you’re in a position to donate, even a small amount, we always know that every single dollar counts.
If you’re not, totes okay too. Sharing the link, cheering her on, or simply keeping people navigating cancer in your thoughts is just as valuable.
If there’s one thing I see again and again in this community, it’s that when people come together, incredible things happen.
Let’s help Jacki get as close to that $5,000 goal as we can.
