Emerge is a 2026 art exhibition at Nin Yoga Penrith, bringing together artists, performers and creatives to explore what it means to step forward, be seen, and take shape. Through visual art, music, poetry and movement, this exhibition invites you to witness the moment something begins to surface, unfold and come to life.
Emerge - Art, Music & Spoken Word
Step into Nin Yoga Penrith as it transforms into a living gallery for one evening only. Emerge is a celebration of creativity, connection, and community, where visual art, live music, and spoken word come together in one shared space.
This exhibition explores what it means to step forward, be seen, and take shape. Through art, sound, and story, you’re invited to wander, pause, listen, and engage in a way that feels human and accessible.

Emerge will feature a mix of live music, spoken word, and movement woven throughout the evening, alongside the exhibition. You’ll be able to move through the space, experience the artwork, and drop into performances as they unfold.

Anastasia Freeman is interdisciplinary artist and educator currently working on Dharug Land in NSW, Australia. Her practice explores relationships to land, kith and kin both human and more than human through symbolic imagery in contemporary Australia. Previous projects have taken the form of installations, illustration, photography, poetry and performance.

Angie Carland is a sculptor whose work begins with feeling rather than a fixed idea. Through the process of making, each piece gradually finds its form, often revealing its meaning only once complete. Her sculptures intentionally leave space for viewers to bring their own experiences, interpretations and stories to the work.

Charlotte is a Western Sydney photographer who trained at UNSW Art & Design. She tells stories through photographs, exploring themes of community, self-expression and humanity’s connection to nature. A devoted fantasy nerd, she channels her love of magic and whimsy into her work, celebrating the beauty in the everyday.

SAMANTHA ROBERTS
Samantha Roberts is a creative and critical writer—and yoga teacher, and mother, and woman—living on Darug Country. She holds a Master of Research in Women’s Writing. She also holds her toddler’s hand as he navigates the world; her wife as they rediscover it alongside him; and many, many cups of tea as she writes in the quiet hours between dusk and dawn. These multitudes shape Samantha’s writing practice, with interests spanning motherhood, mental health, sexuality, the relationship between writing and the body, and the way these topics intersect with the love and labour of writing.

POPI IATROU
Popi Iatrou is an Australian artist of Greek heritage whose vibrant, symbolic paintings explore psychology, nature, spirituality and imagination.
Alongside her art practice, Popi has worked as a psychologist for almost three decades, deeply influencing her exploration of healing, identity and transformation.
Working intuitively with colour, texture, mixed media and oils, her paintings move between the real and imagined. Inspired by the sea, movement and the subconscious, Popi creates work that invites viewers to pause, discover their own meaning and reconnect with the wild, imaginative parts of themselves.

Apply to Exhibit or Perform
Are you an artist or performer keen to be part of Emerge?
We’re currently inviting applications from visual artists, musicians, poets, dancers and creatives of all kinds to help shape the evening. This is where you apply to exhibit your work or perform on the night.
Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee a spot. We curate each exhibition to create a balanced and diverse experience, and you’ll be notified once selections have been made. Priority will be given to artists who have not yet exhibited with us, as well as those already part of the Nin Yoga community.
If your work requires hanging, it must be ready to go with a secure string or wire attached to the back. If it’s not ready to hang, we won’t be able to install it. An installation fee of $11 per artwork applies.
We also have a limited number of tables available for artists needing a display setup. Tables are $44 each, with only 6 available in total. These will be allocated based on availability.
All exhibiting artists and performers receive complimentary entry to the event.
