Bethany Nedelkovski and Erin Hardie are Art Buddies collaborating through contrast. Bethany is driven by detail and storytelling, drawing on mythology, urban legends and cryptids. Erin embraces abstraction with a “hope for the best” approach. Together they balance intention and instinct in their work.

CERAMICS

Caitlin is a ceramicist at Parramatta Clay Arts studio, creating sculpture and functional ware using wheel throwing and hand building techniques. Over three years of practice, she's made a lot of bowls and mugs, and also some hand-built rats.

Charlotte is a Western Sydney photographer who trained at UNSW Art & Design. She tells stories through photographs, exploring themes of community, self-expression and humanity’s connection to nature. A devoted fantasy nerd, she channels her love of magic and whimsy into her work, celebrating the beauty in the everyday.

Claire Eva is a poet who has been writing for most of her life, using words as a way to process, reflect, and connect. Recently introduced to poetry slams, she has been inspired to share her work more openly, showing up with vulnerability and authenticity. A mother, yoga teacher, and dreamer, she is often found with a hot drink in hand, immersed in fantasy or self-reflective writing.

Clare Yates is a freelance photographer based on Dharug land in the Nepean Blue Mountains. Inspired by experimentation and collaboration, her work blends bright colour, fashion, and nature to create playful, expressive imagery. With over seven years of experience, she creates a comfortable space for people to be themselves in front of the lens.

Danica is a self-taught Sydney based mystic and multidimensional visionary artist. With an intricate eye for mesmerising detail, she renders otherworldly portals of cosmic scenes. Her work offers viewers visions of distant realms, insights into the creative structure of our universe and glimpses beyond the veil.

Rachel of Dengate Leather is a leather artist with over 30 years of knowledge and experience. She masterfully blends traditional and modern techniques, bringing a unique and high-quality style to her creations. Rachel strongly focuses on reusing and salvaging vintage leather, emphasizing sustainability in her work. Her dedication to the craft and innovative approach makes her pieces truly one-of-a-kind.

Singing...In public... Not quite something Hannah is used to! She's freaking out. She's nervous. But, Hannah hopes that this set of covers can be the start of taking this passion beyond the four walls of her bedroom - or, at the very least, be a laugh!

Jesse Colon is a digital artist who blends illustration with photography and physical mediums. Influenced by cartoons, his work transforms empty space into playful, expressive compositions. Often creating during Drawtober, he explores both visual art and music. Having previously exhibited with Nin Yoga, he is excited to return and share his work again.

Uncle Joey is a Blue Mountains based self-taught artist experimenting with glass and mirrors. Heavily influenced by traditional tattooing, his bold yet intricate work leaves a timeless impression, blending classic and contemporary styles.

Karishma Nair will be performing “Kirwani Pallavi,” choreographed by Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra, in the classical Indian dance style of Odissi. Known for its fluid torso movements, sculptural poses, and intricate rhythmic footwork, this piece highlights the pure dance aspect of Odissi, focusing on rhythm, technique, and expressive movement without dramatic characterisation.

Kaycee Ink is a tattoo artist and painter whose work moves between skin and canvas. With a background in Fine Arts and a lifelong dedication to creativity, she brings bold expression and playful energy into everything she creates. At Threads of Being, she will be exhibiting paintings alongside a selection of her tattoo flash designs.

HOOP ARTIST

Mel Wheeler’s hula hoop journey began in 2014 and has since taken her around the world, performing and learning across Bali, Malaysia, Hawaii and India. Known for high-energy, seemingly impossible tricks, she blends artistry and play in every performance. A mother of four, she shares the joy of movement through teaching and viral online videos.

Mo shares his journey from Somalia, blending personal experiences with traditional storytelling. His tales of loss, resilience, and hope explore Somali culture and the universal quest for a place to call home.

MUSICIANS

R.E.D. Experiment is a trio formed by  the drummer, musician and producer YORDA (Giorgia Di Girolamo) Emily Riggs (guitarist, composer) and Sean Egan (bassist, composer).  Their music is a unique mix of nu jazz, RnB and progressive where all these elements melt together, stirred by their versatility and dynamism. The band's ethos revolves around innovation and exploration where they blend emotional melodies and captivating rhythms.

The band has been active since 2023, recording their EP “Live at Audio Heights” and then playing regularly around Sydney.

Renae Rosa is a ceramic artist creating one-of-a-kind pieces designed to bring presence and ritual into everyday moments. Working primarily with mugs, her practice is rooted in slowing down and elevating simple routines like a morning coffee. With her own studio space, she continues to explore and evolve her craft with care and intention.

Samantha is an Australian-Cambodian poet residing in western Sydney. She has completed a Master of Creative Writing at University of Sydney. Her poetry explores themes of culture, identity, generational trauma, love and sexuality. She hopes her words touch as many hearts with healing and empowers others to boldly express who they are.

Samantha Roberts is a creative and critical writer—and yoga teacher, and mother, and woman—living on Darug Country. She holds a Master of Research in Women’s Writing. She also holds her toddler’s hand as he navigates the world; her wife as they rediscover it alongside him; and many, many cups of tea as she writes in the quiet hours between dusk and dawn. These multitudes shape Samantha’s writing practice, with interests spanning motherhood, mental health, sexuality, the relationship between writing and the body, and the way these topics intersect with the love and labour of writing.

Steve Russell reinterprets the world around him through composition, colour, and light, seeking vibrancy and emotion in every subject. Inspired by nature, impressionism, and abstraction, he works from life and a rich archive of collected imagery. Colour challenged from birth, Steve embraces his unique perspective, guided by instinct and mentorship.

ARTIST

Ana Elena Sastrias Bordes was born in Mexico City in 1962 and has lived in Sydney since 1996. A lifelong visual artist, she balances art with a background in computer engineering and community services. Working across painting, photography, and handcrafted natural perfumes, she now tutors art at Nepean Community College, Penrith.

Anastasia Freeman is interdisciplinary artist and educator currently working on Dharug Land in NSW, Australia. Her practice explores relationships to land, kith and kin both human and more than human through symbolic imagery in contemporary Australia. Previous projects have taken the form of installations, illustration, photography, poetry and performance.
