creative napping
Just a little note to share two softer events happening at the studio this weekend (alongside our regular bits and bobs, that is, yoga and pilates classes, of course).
Oh, and also, a huge thank you to everyone who came along to our Mother’s Day classes on Sunday. We had an 8 am Vinyasa completely booked out with Karishma & 6 pm Yin Yoga/7:15 pm Sound Healing with Mary, which honestly felt very special to witness.
If you’d like to see a little glimpse of the Sound Bath, Mary shared a live stream here:

And now onto this weekend...
Saturday | 11:00am – 12:30pm
Restorative Yoga with Annika
This Saturday we’re slowing allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the way down.
Restorative Yoga is very different to Yin Yoga. There’s no gentle stress, stretch or sensation that you “work through”. The entire practice is built around complete support, complete comfort, and allowing your nervous system to finally exhale.
In this class, there’ll also be no music, and minimal instruction form me once we have you all set up in the pose.
Just quiet (and whatever decides to drive up and down York Road).
Everyone will be set up with 2 bolsters, 3 blankets, cushions, blocks, and all the support you could possibly need. We hold poses for at least 10 minutes at a time, completely propped up and cocooned.
Honestly, it’s perfect if your brain feels loud, body tired, or you just need a solid moment away from regular life.
Come be wrapped up like a little human burrito for 90 minutes and let yourself properly rest.

Book Club: The House in the Cerulean Sea
This month at book club we’re reading The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune.
The book follows Linus Baker, a quiet caseworker sent to investigate an orphanage on a mysterious island filled with magical children. It’s warm, weird, funny, tender, and quietly asks some very human questions about belonging, fear, found family, and what it means to care for one another. So warm and fuzzy!
You absolutely do not need to have finished the book to come along. Half the fun is just sitting around talking about what’s standing out so far.
Tea and treats will be provided.
Book Club is priced as one of our community classes:
$10 casual
Free for Unlimited Members
(Our 4:45pm Thursday Vinyasa and 8:00am Sunday Vinyasa classes are also part of our community pricing each week too btw!)
You can book via:

See you around the studio sooni?

P.S Friday night Yin Yoga & Meditation Teacher Training begins July 24th, and our $100 early bird discount finishes at the end of this month if paying in full: www.kaya.academy/teachyin if slowing down (with some study thrown in) sounds like your type of vibe.
