just for now

Pretend you're in savasana.

You know, that moment at the end of your yoga class when your body finally sinks into the mat. You've moved and breathed, stretched and twisted, and your teacher finalllllly tells you to prepare for savasana.

Wherever you are, whenever you're reading this, see if you can capture that feeling.

The feeling of letting go.

The feeling of releasing any effort, any expectation, and allowing yourself to just... be.

For the next few minutes, see if you can set aside that to-do list. If you can lie down right now, amazing, but otherwise you can totally do this sitting wherever you are.

Allow yourself that moment of stillness that we absolutely crave at the end of a yoga class... a moment of stillness that we can actually tap into any time, whenever we need it.

And to help you settle in to that feeling, to claim even just five minutes for yourself, I'd love to share a poem with you:

JUST FOR NOW

Just for now

without asking how,

let yourself sink into stillness.

Just for now,

lay down the weight you so patiently bear upon your shoulders.

Feel the earth receive you, and the infinite expanse of the sky grow even wider as your awareness reaches up to meet it.

Just for now,

allow the wave of breath to enliven your experience.

Breathe out whatever blocks you from the truth.

Just for now,

Be boundless, free, with awakened energy tingling in your hands and feet.

Drink in the possibility of being who and what you really are —

so fully alive that the world looks different, newly born and vibrant,

Just for now...

-  Danna Faulds

Hope you continue to create moments of stillness in your day.

With love,

Samantha

A woman lies on a black yoga mat, the top half of her body and her head resting on a purple bolster. Her eyes are closed, her face is relaxed, her arms are out to the side and her legs are in a butterfly shape. She is outside with many potted plants.

Yin yoga poses + plants + sunshine = the perfect combo 😍
